Job Description

SomaLogic is a privately-owned biomedical science company that developed a revolutionary proteomics technology capable of measuring thousands of different human proteins in a single small sample. We are now moving towards commercializing the health-related information derived from that technology to help people worldwide proactively manage their health for life. As a part of our commercialization effort, we are seeking additional expertise to join our dedicated team of scientists, bioinformaticians, statisticians, and software developers to help us realize that vision.

The production Bioinformatics team works at the intersection of assay development and assay outcomes; we employ a wide range of data visualization and statistical methods in support of assay reporting and quality monitoring. The production Bioinformatics Analyst will use strong communication skills to interact daily with other bioinformatics analysts, laboratory personnel, project managers, and external customers and collaborators. Strong attention to details and deadlines is critical. This is a great position for someone looking to break into the biotech and bioinformatics industry.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine analysis on collaborator data as it is generated by the service lab, applying standard quality assessment protocols, and providing results to collaborators
  • Use internally developed and off the shelf tools to process collaborator data into standard results
  • Apply standard quality assessment protocols to results generated and coordinate with laboratory personnel regarding assay quality and protocol deviations
  • Monitor and manage data flow for collaborator samples, providing regular feedback to project management
  • Participate in study planning calls with collaborators to discuss how their samples will be analyzed and provide recommendations based on documented best practices
  • Participate in post-data-generation calls with collaborators to discuss their results
  • Work with quality assurance, analytical chemistry, and quality control to design experiments and develop statistical models to maintain assay stability
  • Aid in deployment of new analysis methods into production and in development of pipelines for analysis and reporting of assay outcomes
