Job Description

JEVS Behavioral Health Outpatient clinic is currently hiring for an Outpatient Therapist.  This program works with individuals with mental health challenges.  Our goal is to provide services to help the individual achieve a sense of wellness.  Services are customized to meet the unique needs of every person.  The Outpatient Therapist works closely with individuals as a primary member of the treatment team. 

This role, located in our Northeast Philadelphia office, offers flexibility and a hybrid environment, including 3-4 days each week on-site depending on case load requirements.  This position is full time.

JEVS is currently offering a $5,000 signing bonus



  • Provide individual and group therapy to people who have experienced psychiatric symptoms to assist them to discover the strengths they have and can use to enhance their recovery.
  • Complete biopsychosocial evaluation support to psychiatrist for caseload.
  • Work with individuals, families, groups and collateral contacts to develop and implement an action plan.
  • Provide clinical services to customers according to established treatment/recovery plan, to include individual or family sessions and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence based practices when applicable.
  • Provide telephone and face-to-face outreach to individuals in crisis or in need of additional support, as assigned, during hours when individuals are not at the program.  
  • Interview admission candidates for Outpatient program, understanding person’s needs and preferences.
  • Responsible for all development/writing of treatment/recovery plans, and associated team coordination in compliance with standards and regulations. 
  • Evaluate evidence based practices, curriculum and materials for group therapy use.
  • Participates in progress reviews with other staff and participants to evaluate progress in goal areas.
  • Provide linkage to psychiatric services as well as external resources as needed.
  • Communicate with Community Mental Health Centers, Base Service Units, Medical Providers, CBH, Family and Significant Others only as authorized by the customer.
  • Maintain client charts, electronic and paper as required. Responsible for completion of all chart management updates, and quality assurance tasks as designated by Clinical Director to comply with all regulatory requirements, program policies and procedures, and billing standards.
Skills & Requirements


  • Master’s degree in a clinical mental health discipline, required
  • 2+ years experience in the mental health field; fieldwork and internships may be considered
  • LCSW or LSW, required
  • Knowledge of Medicare a plus

The base pay for this position ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience, licensure, etc.  Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
