Frankfurt International School in Oberursel is looking for a qualified and friendly part-time Nurse as of 1 August 2026 to provide health care and promote health education.
The successful candidate
- is a registered nurse and holds a current RN license
- has a minimum of three years recent experience, preferable in pediatrics or emergency room
- is fluent in English, and can provide some working knowledge in German
- must have a valid German work permit
The duties of the position will include but not be limited to the following:
- Prioritizes serious incidents and initiates and administers first aid when necessary
- Provides nursing care for minor illnesses, accidents and injuries on a daily basis for students and staff
- Offers professional advice on individual health and pastoral problems
- Dispenses medication to students as requested by the parents
- Performs school-wide audiometric, visual and developmental (centile charting) screening, as well as special screening (scoliosis) in upper grade levels
- Maintains accurate, updated medical records for all students
- Provides leadership and guidance in the development and maintenance of the school health program
- Works within a team of key persons, head of school, heads of department, counselors and other members of the nurse's team
- Liaises with the German public health authorities when circumstances require this
- Teaches health topics to students as requested by teachers
- Adheres to the professional Code of Conduct
