POSITION SUMMARY

TP Trucking LLC is looking for a seasoned sales manager. This position will directly support TP Trucking business goals by providing leadership to our Sales organization. This position is responsible for developing and executing a plan for growing the Trucking Division nationally through additional market channels. Responsible for ensuring we are providing excellent customer service to our current customer base.

 

MAJOR TASKS

  • Generates business and establishes new accounts (through distribution and direct opportunities) by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing and potential sales customers.
  • Travels in the market to meet with customers as necessary.
  • Makes sales presentations to current and potential customers.  Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales customer and establishing joint business opportunities and market opportunities.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and prospective customers’ sales volumes and identifying the best potential sales.
  • Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies.  Analyzes trends and results within the scope established by the local dispatch team.
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales plans for territories.  Projects expected sales volume and profit for existing services.
  • Maintains sales volume and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors.
  • Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, supply and demand, and then making recommendations to the local sales team.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity into the company CRM such as daily call reports, new opportunities, and monthly and annual product and/or territory analysis.  Analyzes reports to recommend future changes.
  • Recommends changes in services by evaluating results of market research and assessing competitive developments.
  • Provides sound customer service by representing the Company’s entire product line, problem solving, and providing solutions matching the customer’s specific needs. Also services the customer by following up after the sale to assure customer satisfaction on quality and delivery.  Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.  Acts as lead negotiator and problem solver with credit and claims issues.

 

Skills & Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

This job typically requires a Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field preferred, with a minimum of 5 to 10 years sales experience, preferably in a transportation environment.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the Bachelors’ degree.

Strong skills in computer software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook email required.

Excellent communication, listening, and telephone skills are required in order to work effectively with all levels.  Communications must be concise and accurate. Requires ability to solve customer and/or business problems and recommend solutions to customers’ transportation issues. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required for this job.  Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.  Must be able to work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members. Strong customer service skills required.
