Job Description

The Data Analyst role is a key member of the PS Operations and wider Client Services team. The PS Ops team administers project intake, resource management, and reporting across the PS Organization. Their work supports specialized teams of digital communicators and legislative experts in their quest to deliver best-in-class services related to Granicus’ suite of technology solutions. The “Customers” of PS Ops include our COO, PS Managers and Directors, PM’s, in-house strategists, implementors, designers, developers, and trainers who share Granicus’ standards of excellence across client deliverables and relationships. Strong Data Analyst candidates have a proven track record of creating and maintaining detailed and informative reports that allow business users of our company to make informed decisions. You’ll need strong analytical and technical skills to maintain reports and dataflows that work, continually improve those that don’t, and sound judgement to know the difference. A desire to be part of a results-driven, client-focused (yes – even in an internal role!), fast paced team who loves the mission of helping government create better lives for more people is a must.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with reporting needs across the PS Org. This includes Board level reporting, standard and custom reports as requested by PS Leadership, and equipping front line managers with reports that support their unique organizational needs. Examples of standard reporting include: Utilization, Project Profitability, Resource Forecasting, Revenue Forecasting, and Project Health
  • Create and own documentation for existing and new processes and automated workflows within the PS Org
  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new tools, solutions, and processes to improve and optimize PS Teams’ performance
  • Perform R&D to determine features and supporting applications that will add organizational value
  • Operationalize the day-to-day maintenance of new tools, solutions, and processes. This includes documentation and back-up plans.
  • Provide quality assurance of data by studying, cleaning, organizing, and building data models to be used cross-departmentally
  • Work with key stakeholders across departments to identify data requirements and implement these quickly and accurately
  • Develop, manage, and monitor reports and dashboards in PowerBI to ensure data quality and assist in data validation
  • Present data insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Understand business-wide systems and data implications, leveraging data to provide insights
  • Teach cross-departmental team members how to utilize PowerBI and system best practices
  • Create, manage, and monitor data pipelines both within the Microsoft PowerBI service and outside of Power BI utilizing APIs and Azure
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets
  • Coordinate data analytics efforts across multiple functions
Skills & Requirements

Who You Are:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a business operations role in technology, ideally focused on reporting and data analytics
  • Familiarity of enterprise information systems including data modeling, data dependency, automation, and business process management
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of data systems including PowerBI and Azure
  • Proficient use of CRM solutions (Salesforce preferred) and project management solutions (OpenAir, Wrike and/or Smartsheet preferred)
  • Possess superior communication skills - oral, written, and visual (ex: process mapping/workflow) This includes sound judgement on when individuals need to be consulted versus informed, and whether communications go direct to individual contributors, or flow through team managers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate raw data into meaningful metrics
  • Identify, own and solve problems independently and as part of cross functional teams
  • Strong ability to self-motivate and manage time
  • Possess proficiency with scripting languages for CRMs, ideally Boomi and OpenAir
  • Ability to travel, as needed (up to 20%)
  • Have an authentic presence at all times
