As a Web Designer, you’ll take the lead in working with our government clients to conceptualise, workshop, and finalise beautiful, user-centred visual designs for websites built using the OpenCities platform.
This role will report to the Implementation Team Manager within Client Services and be part of a squad with visual design and web development skills. The position is now and will continue to be a fully remote work-from-home position within Australia. However, we have a Melbourne office should you wish to work in person alongside peers.
What you'll do:
• Produce high-quality visual designs (page layouts, templates)
• Facilitate design workshops with clients and articulate design decisions to stakeholders
• Facilitate mutually beneficial decision-making
• Communicate user-centred methods and their value to non-designers
• Partner with designers at OpenCities to refine our design systems
• Provide effective and timely feedback to peers and designers
Who you are:
• A problem solver with exceptional communication ability
• Have a portfolio showcasing design work for the web
• At least 2 years’ experience in designing for content management systems
• Hands-on experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Jira, GitHub
• Strong command of colour theory, image composition, and typography
• Preferably with experience developing with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
