Granicus is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our internal infrastructure and network engineering team.  This role is critical to maintaining and optimizing the performance of Grancius' networks and infrastructure, with a focus on availability, scalability and simplification. Devices include (but are not limited to): Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewall/VPN and F5 load balancers. 

What You Will Do

  • Plan for and install new software releases and system hardware/software upgrades
  • Ensure regular patches and updates are installed
  • Perform or monitor system backups/recovery
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, including maintenance windows
  • Triage, resolve and document incidents and problems
  • Execute well documented Change Controls
  • Ensure network resources and assets are logged and monitored along with appropriate actions for events
  • Take initiative to suggest and implement improvements/enhancements, especially geared towards automating Granicus systems
  • Document changes, incidents, problems and architecture from a technical support perspective
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Granicus infrastructure assets
  • Provide direction, scope and management of Infrastructure Engineering automation efforts
  • Provide direction and leadership related to network security design and requirements
  • ·Define, design and implement network best practices; Act as a liaison to other technical teams on how to optimize and secure the network environment
  • Ensure Infrastructure Engineering has proper capacity planning, reporting and management of network resources
  • Provide expert level supervision of high-risk Change Requests
Skills & Requirements

Who You Are

  • 5+ years’ experience administrating network routers, switches, and firewalls
  • 3+ years’ experience administrating load balancers
  • 1+ years’ experience working in cloud environments
  • 1+ years’ experience automating networks (via Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git or similar)
  • Experienced with Linux operating systems, IP network services including DNS, NTP, SSH, etc.
  • Experienced with regular patching of network gear
  • Experienced researching and resolving security vulnerabilities
  • Working knowledge of network storage in a virtual Environment
  • Working knowledge of certificates and certificate management

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancers
  • Experience with Cisco UCS
  • Experience with VMware PowerCLI and/or API
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with Linux OS – CentOS, Ubuntu or RedHat
  • Experience with NetApp based Network Storage systems
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP
  • BA/BS in a technology related discipline
