POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily analysis, preparation and scheduling of inbound merchandise, negotiating with various outside agencies to arrange deliveries, and securing and analyzing the various reporting required by the Purchasing and Operations departments’ staff. Maintain Aged inventory reporting and communication.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS
- Manages pier, rail yard and local warehouse pick-ups process by analyzing, prioritizing and coordinating shipments through the Truck Dispatcher;
- Determines schedule of pickups by analyzing and acting upon Customs Broker documentation
- Schedules daily inbound shipments using input from Purchasing Manager and knowledge of daily schedule and warehouse activity
- Ensures accuracy and responsibility of demurrage/detention charges by reviewing and auditing invoices;
- Prepares and disseminates daily receiving schedule by determining daily schedule, gathering information, sorting documents;
- Learns to utilize JD Edwards system and High Jump warehouse management system as required to perform daily tasks;
- Links consolidated purchase orders in JD Edwards by weekly analysis of California consolidations;
- Communicates information by preparing effective communications both inter- and intra-departmental, as well as with outside service providers such as carriers, terminals, customs brokers, etc;
- Makes decisions and resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing and summarizing information;
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential;
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rule and regulations;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Conducts monthly aged inventory review and reporting. Communicates with IT and Business management as needed to ensure accuracy of aged inventory reporting. Communicates with business managers on monthly basis with regards to aged inventory and attends monthly meeting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience preferred

- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel required

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Empire Merchants offers a competitive compensation package including:
- Salary Range: $55,000-$62,000 plus annual bonus potential
