We are seeking an experienced product owner to lead the charge on this mission. The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. This role is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and real-world experience distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs. Most importantly, you will be integral to helping us build better products that people [or businesses] love to use by understanding customer needs, staying close to industry trends, and shepherding products through the Vertafore delivery process. Build close relationships with customers and other Vertafore staff.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

The Product Owner will collaborate closely with both internal and external customers to understand business problems, needs and processes. In addition, the Product Owner will work closely with the Product Management, Product Development, and Experience Design teams to elaborate requirements, document proposed software solutions, and maintain and groom a prioritized backlog of features and stories /issues. You will serve as the interface between our customers and product managers and your development teams throughout the planning and software development process.

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

·        Software functional and non-functional requirements elaboration and documentation, functional design documentation.

·        User story and use scenario definitions

·        Maintain prioritized product backlog with Product Development.

·        Day to day coordination with development teams and Collaborate with User Experience Design staff on software designs

·        Ensure that the software solution aligns with stakeholder expectations and deliver a successful product to users in a way that aligns with the company vision.

·        Analyze marketplace and assist with market understanding and market problem definition.

·        Analyze the competitive landscape and assist with competitive offering technical assessments.

·        Assist with technical integration with product offerings.

Our Product Owners are part of a highly effective, fast-paced team and serve as the interface between our customers and the development team throughout the planning and software development process. They can fully understand and analyze both internal and external customer needs, and then articulate those needs to our experience design and product development teams

 

Qualifications:

·        We need Product Owners who:

o   Have Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

o   Have a strong analytic orientation and the ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

o   Are eager to learn to understand business drivers, future customer needs and competitive challenges

o   Thrive on responsibility and display a drive for results

o   Enjoy having fun, making things happen, and dreaming big

o   Work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals and build solid working relationship across the organization

o   Be an innovative and creative thinker, problem solver, and sound decision maker.

o   Have strong time management and organizational skills

o   Ability to manage a broad range of deliverables in an environment that is often faced with ambiguity.

o   Can communicate complex concepts to all levels of an organization and customers

o   Write reports, business correspondence, other product and procedure documentation clearly and effectively

o   Understand web and database technologies

o   3+ years’ experience, preferably with business analysis and product owner role for web-based software

o   Have experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Qualifications

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs.  Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
