JOB DESCRIPTION

The VP, Solution Consulting is responsible for leading a team of individuals with deep knowledge of Vertafore products, the industry of insurance, and who can consult on the value of our solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, the VP of Solution Consulting is responsible for the strategy and support of diverse pre-sales activities to drive bookings and customer retention. This leader will collaborate closely with sales, product development, and customer success teams to align our cutting-edge solutions with business goals and the unique requirements of the Insurtech sector.

 

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Solution Consultant managers and individual contributors, focused on small to enterprise level accounts, who serve as our core product introduction, evaluation, and education experts.
  • Create and execute on strategic plan that will drive bookings.
  • Develop strong working relationships across internal functions, sales, professional services, customer success, operations, product, marketing, etc.
  • Coach and develop leaders and solution consultants, including how to perform effective discovery and qualification, selling business value, and managing projects.
  • Understand performance metrics of a solution consulting team, holding team members accountable to exceed goals
  • Partner with senior leaders to drive corporate initiatives
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices within the Insurtech landscape.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Vertafore products and services.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in Sales, Business Development, Solution Consulting, Solution Engineering or Customer Success required
  • SaaS experience highly preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing a team in pre-sales or customer success
  • Technical degree desired
  • InsurTech/Insurance industry knowledge greatly desired
  • Elite presentations skill with a record of coaching
  • Sales experience desired with knowledge of sales processes
  • Knowledge of Vertafore Solutions desired.

 

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel Required up to 75% of the time.
  • Located and working from a remote location.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.  
  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.  
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.). 
  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.  

 

Qualifications Vertafore is a Flexible First working environment which allows team members to work from home as often as you’d like, while using our offices as a place for collaboration, community, and teambuilding. There are times you may be asked to come into an office and/or travel for specific meetings for a specific business purpose and this varies by job responsibilities.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs.  Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
