JOB DESCRIPTION

Vertafore has an immediate need for a Director of Sales Operations to lead our sales operations team.  This position requires a business leader with proven management expertise, strong communication, facilitation and mediation skills with an extensive background in sales operations, strategy and execution.

The Director of Operations is a high-impact role, leading this function. This role will develop and oversee sales operations processes, tools and resources that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and ultimately, higher sales productivity. 

 

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

•      Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Legal, Product and Marketing to drive greater sales efficiency

•      Define and implement tactics to achieve Sales strategies and company goals

•      Monitor and analyze Sales performance metrics to ensure execution of Sales strategies and identify areas of improvement

•      Oversee planning and management for sales roles, responsibilities, territory coverage and rules of engagement across the sales organization

•      Align planning, forecasting and budgeting efforts with corporate objective

•      Work with sales leadership to allocate sales quota across territories and resources

•      Collaborate with technology teams to refine the sales force automation platform (Salesforce)

•      Manage and optimize the Sales tech stack, remain informed on best-in-class solutions, and advocate for sales needs

•      Develop and improve processes to drive greater sales productivity

•      Drive appropriate organizational change and team mentoring as required to ensure success

•      Work closely with marketing operations to ensure alignment in lead generation, management and reporting

Skills & Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•      Strong process and project management skill

•      Ability to navigate culture and politics across multiple functions

•      Ability to translate business objectives to technical requirements

•      Ability to manage complex information and rapidly structure and rationalize it

•      Strong attention to detail, well organized administratively

•      Clear, concise, comprehensive written/verbal communicator

 

Qualifications

•      BA or BS required, MBA preferred

•      Experience in finance or strong financial acumen preferred

•      3-5 years proven experience in a senior sales operations role with responsibility for strategy and execution

•      5+ years of management experience

•      Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience with data-driven decision-making

 

 

Additional Requirements and Details:

·       Travel required up to 10% of the time.

·       Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis

·       Located and working from an office location (when required)

·       Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

·       Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

·       Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

·       Frequent sitting and/or standing.

There are times you may be asked to come into an office and/or travel for specific meetings for a specific business purpose and this varies by job responsibilities.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs.  Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
