The Salesforce Jr. developer position is a highly technical and creative role, focused on building functionality on Vertafore’s Salesforce platform. Assist and collaborate on features in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, Communities and Celigo cloud integration framework. Work with other members of the Enterprise Applications team in an Agile environment to deliver business critical solutions.  

You should have a passion for building high quality features representing best practices for the platform and thrive in a culture of innovation. Salesforce is the hub of our business process and facilitates the workflow, information and core metrics we need to successfully scale our business. 

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:  

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following: 

 
  • Assist and develop custom solutions using Visualforce, Javascript, Apex, APIs and 3rd party tools, with a mind-set of long term scalability and an intuitive user experience 

  • Manage configuration changes to fields, workflows, roles/permissions, page layouts, custom objects, custom record types, reports, and dashboards 

  • Research and development of new Salesforce add-ons / prototypes and applications, and facilitate continuous improvement within the environment 

  • Communicate and collaborate with other team resources and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues, and creative solutions 

  • Research and keep current on Salesforce modules and functionality, also communicate trends and future needs from a business perspective to management 

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience. 

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator or Jr. Developer. 

  • Experience developing in Java, Apex, VisualForce, and/or Javascript programming languages 

  • Experience in building Lightning components, LWC is preferred. 

  • Experience utilizing SFDC development tools, SFDX, developer console. 

  • Experience utilizing Saleforce data tools, data loader, and SFDC workbench.  

  • Familiarity integrating systems using APIs (SOAP, RESTful) 

  • Awareness of RDBMs, modelling and SQL 

  • Experience with QTC integrations, Salesforce CPQ, Service Cloud and/or Communities preferred 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences 

  • CRM Domain Knowledge Sales cloud, Service Cloud,  

  • Salesforce Developer Certification PD I, PD II is preferred

Qualifications Vertafore is a Flexible First working environment which allows team members to work from home as often as you’d like, while using our offices as a place for collaboration, community, and teambuilding. There are times you may be asked to come into an office and/or travel for specific meetings for a specific business purpose and this varies by job responsibilities.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs.  Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
