Job Description

We seek innovative and accomplished engineering leaders from entrepreneurial or established backgrounds. As a core member of the leadership team, you will shape and execute the strategic and operational direction of our India development team. Partnering with stakeholders across engineering, product, and business units, you will architect scalable, resilient solutions for our enterprise platforms and strategic partners. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and people management skills to deliver timely, high-quality results and revise and enforce essential processes.

You will lead multiple engineering teams, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of software solutions that align with business goals while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

·        Team Leadership & Management

o   Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software developers and engineers.

o   Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.

o   Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.

·        Project & Delivery Management

o   Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and other stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and priorities.

o   Ensure timely and quality delivery of software releases.

o   Oversee sprint planning, execution, delivery and retrospectives.

 

Technical Leadership

o   Guide the team in adopting best practices in coding, testing, and architecture.

o   Drive technical initiatives such as code reviews, design reviews, and system improvements.

o   Stay up to date with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential use.

Process & Collaboration

o   Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum and product tailored methodologies

o   Improve development processes, tooling, and workflows to maximize productivity and quality.

o   Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals.

 People & Culture

o   Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent.

o   Build a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can thrive.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

·        14+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/management role.

·        Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams in enterprise or SaaS product environments.

·        Strong expertise in .NET full-stack development (C#, WebAPI, Angular/React, SQL and Design Principles, People Management and Delivery management)

.         Exposure towards Cloud, Micro Services, AI usage, System Design is good to have.

·        Deep understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

·        Having experience of designing architecture for enterprise applications and have used multiple design patterns

·        Have experience in security best practices for software and data platforms 

·        Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps practices.

·        Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server)

·        Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.




Preferred Skills

·        Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.

·        Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development.

·        Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

·        Ability to balance technical depth with business acumen.

Qualifications

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs.  Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
