JOB DESCRIPTION 

Solution Consultant is strategic to Vertafore in many ways. You will be at the forefront of the innovative products Vertafore brings to the Agency market. You will join a dynamic team of consultants who come from diverse backgrounds including sales, consulting, and technology with the ideal candidate combining all these skills to crisply articulate the value of the Vertafore solutions to our customers.  

The Solution Consulting team is an integral part of the sales team and advises our customers on considering new solutions and how to achieve the maximum value of the existing tech stack.  A successful pre-sales consultant prepares diligently to understand the customer’s business and presents solutions that drive growth. It is all about value and working in a team that strives to be the best they can be and exceed our customers’ expectations with industry and technology knowledge. 

Core Requirments and Responsibilities:  

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following: 

 
  • Be the industry subject matter expert 

  • Willing to learn advanced presentation skills including ability to sell value over feature function 

  • Ability to learn new products, technology concepts, and best practice in a brief period of time 

  • Well-rounded presentation, technical, and business skills 

  • Insurance Agency Operations & Account Management – Experience supporting agency operations, servicing accounts, and managing client relationships 

  • Articulate and polished in how they conduct presentations and discovery sessions with customers 

  • Ability to uncover value through the discovery process and align with the solutions Vertafore has to offer 

  • Work in a team environment with sales team members in a supporting role to the assigned sales team 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Skills & Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

 
  • Ability to think “outside of the box” and have the business aptitude for building specific use case examples 

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Technical experience with Vertafore solutions, Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and/or hosted solutions 

  • Able to perform and present in high stress situations 

  • Knowledge of various operating systems, computer hardware and software 

  • Ability to learn new products, technology concepts, and best practice in a brief period 

 

Qualifications 

  • 1-2 + years pre-sales or consulting experience in software or related field 

  • 3+ years experience supporting insurance agency operations, servicing accounts, and managing client relationships 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience 

 

 

Additional Requirements and Details:  

 
  • Travel required up to 20% of the time. 

  • Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis 

  • Located and working from an office location (when required)  

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.  

  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.  

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.). 

  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.

Qualifications Vertafore is a Flexible First working environment which allows team members to work from home as often as you’d like, while using our offices as a place for collaboration, community, and teambuilding. There are times you may be asked to come into an office and/or travel for specific meetings for a specific business purpose and this varies by job responsibilities.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance.  Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs.  Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
