Payroll Manager

Out West Restaurant Group, a multi-unit casual dining restaurant operator, is seeking a Payroll Administrator.  This non-exempt position reports to the Payroll Manager.  The payroll department processes all payroll for 7000 exempt and nonexempt corporate and restaurant staff for the following states; Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico.  The Payroll Administrator supports the Payroll Department with heavy data entry for new hires, terms garnishments and filing.  Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 2 years full cycle payroll processing for no less than 200 PPL.

Primary Duties: 

This is an exempt position.  The primary objective of the Payroll Manager is to ensure that all employees are paid correctly and on time by serving as the liaison between Out West Restaurant Group, Inc. the restaurants and our payroll provider, InfoSync. Position provides various payroll reports to internal users. The Payroll Manager ensures proper documentation and audit trail for all changes, hires and terms.   

 

Responsibilities:  Includes the following but other duties may be assigned: 

Ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time timely. 

 

Work with Restaurant Managers, UltiPro, PosiTouch and InfoSync as necessary to resolve file and data transmission issues and missing, incomplete, or incorrect data 

 

Monitor reports for accuracy and reasonableness.   

 

Ensures all appropriate taxes, deductions, and contributions are accurately withheld. 

Provide end-user support for all Payroll systems and programs.  (IE new hires, rehires and PTO). Review, research and respond to incoming payroll inquiries. 

Review incoming mail and support Infosync garnishment responsibility (taxes, child support, etc.) via upload to The Box or FedEx as necessary.  

 

Review overall accuracy of submitted status changes and manual check requests. Submit manual check request via payroll templates to InfoSync. 

 

Monitor vacation accruals, limits and resolve exceptions in a timely manner.  

 

Provide ad hoc reports upon request.  

 

Gather user requirements, creating, verifying, and analyzing custom payroll-related reports (ad hoc, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual) for management.  

 

Conduct periodic data audits to ensure continuous Payroll information integrity. 

 

Provide support to Human Resources as needed. 

 

Ensure the highest degree of confidentiality. 

Skills & Requirements

Education and Experience: 

Minimum 5 years of payroll experience required. 

Knowledge of State and Federal wage and hour regulations. 

ADP and UltiPro experience a plus 

 

Skills Required: 

Well-developed verbal and written communication (various levels- i.e., hourly, management, vendor and executive) 

Diplomacy as needed to handle difficult situations that inevitably occur in a payroll environment  

Able to multi-task (prioritize crisis, problems, and needs)  

Strong organizational skills 

Flexibility with schedule  

Detailed oriented, timely (able to meet deadlines) and accurate. 

Dependable and reliable 

Strong working knowledge of payroll systems, and State and local payroll regulations including by way of example, break penalties, timing of termination pay, etc.  

 

Physical Requirements: 

Sitting for long periods of time; ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.  Vision abilities to include distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral.  Also has the ability to adjust focus.  Regular use of hands to finger handles or feels objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
