Zapproved is hiring a Data Migration Engineer to join our fast-growing software startup headquartered in Portland, Oregon. In this role you will provide internal and external support for team members, and processes migration and data projects for our growing customer base. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with SQL and/or Excel, a high degree of professional integrity, and a passion for customer service and problem solving.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Data Migration Engineer you’ll perform customer data migrations from a variety of legacy systems and work directly with the implementation team as the primary point of contact for customers who are migrating data. You will also be assisting our Customer Success team with a variety of data related projects, including:

• Managing and conducting customer facing meetings and Q&A sessions
• Performs customer data migrations for large enterprise customers
• Maintaining customer facing knowledge base and training materials pertaining to data migration
• Reviewing existing migration tools and providing recommendations for improving performance of the migration process
• Providing regular, proactive, and consistent communication
• Maintaining high level of system knowledge
• Coordinates strategy for complex migrations
• Accurately manages and consistently meets internal and external customer expectations.
• Manages workload to ensure customer needs are being met across the portfolio of active migrations
• Explains technical concepts to non-technical people in an understandable way
• Contributes to ongoing code repository for complex SQL queries
• Performing other tasks and projects as assigned
  

What You’ll Need:

The successful candidate is a data driven self starter with the ability to work independently and creatively. You should have excellent written communication skills (including listening, comprehension, and writing) and a positive customer-centric attitude. It’s essential that you can embrace the importance of teamwork, collaborate with a variety of people in a diverse environment, and be adaptable to changing work requirements. We are also seeking someone with:

• 3+ years of experience in a data migration or similar role
• Significant experience with and proficiency in SQL and Excel
• Proficiency in Outlook and PowerPoint or open source equivalent at a functional level
• Ability to identify and resolve unique problems and navigate between details and strategic solutions
• Basic programming experience writing apps to automate repetitive tasks

What Would Be Nice:

• Experience in a SaaS environment
• Proficient project management skills
• Experience creating simple applications to automate data and file manipulation
