SUMMARY
The role of Regional Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction process for outside plant field projects. Our regional construction manager will be assisting our outside plant team in maintain safety compliance standards as well as meeting all of our company standards.
Role and Responsibilities
- Selects, trains, develops and evaluates all outside plant telecommunications technicians and administrative staff provides or coordinates staff training
- Provides evaluation and coaching of all department employees to improve performance
- Implements progressive discipline on an as needed basis
- Responsible for timely response and prompt resolution of customer trouble tickets through assessing problem and directing needed staff and resources toward the problem and supervising resolution activities
- Conducting site safety inspections when the work is underway and also ensuing compliance to health, safety and environmental regulations
- Ensure shops professionalism and cleanliness
- Assist engineering/inspector as needed with routing information for OSP projects
- Manage subcontractors in their region
- Complete site meetings/pre-planning to prevent problems on the site before they can occur, like, planning the delivery and storage of the materials and equipment
- Complete interviews and hires as necessary
- Responsible for logistics such as planning equipment, personnel, maintenance, and material
- Monitor all quality control and project timelines which includes communicating with various people including subcontractors, client, suppliers and others
- Prioritize field projects as they are needed
- Preform all other job duties that fall under this position
- Complete any other assigned job duties as they come
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 5 years' of related work experience (i.e., construction, telecommunications, utilities)
- 2-3 years' of supervisory and/or management experience
- Project management skills such as planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in standard Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of underground and aerial construction standards and principles, including OSHA regulations and the National Electrical Code
- Handling of several tasks, especially under pressure in both team and individual settings
- Dependable and flexible
- Ability to transition between office setting and field work
