Volunteer Engagement Manager

Job Description PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Volunteer Services, the Volunteer Engagement Manager is responsible for managing the Volunteer Services team at St. Anthony Foundation. Volunteer participation and support is a critical role in program delivery; the Volunteer Engagement Manager will scale volunteer recruitment, engagement and training to ensure our programs are successful and that each volunteer has a meaningful experience. This position works collaboratively with the program staff to provide essential services for our guests. This position will oversee all aspects of volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, and reporting activities. This individual must also demonstrate performance adherence to established policies and procedures exhibiting the defined characteristics associated with attendance and punctuality.

MAJOR DUTIES:
• Work under the instruction and guidance of the Director of Volunteer Services to develop short and long term plans to provide a volunteer workforce that addresses the needs of the programs and engages our volunteers as partners in our work in the community.
• Work with existing strategies and explore and develop innovative for recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers, interns, and service-learners in programs.
• Supervise all volunteers, interns and service-learners working directly for the volunteer service team. 
• Serve as a consultant to internal programs regarding volunteerism.
• Prepare reports, analyses and relevant documentation as requested by the Director of Volunteer Services.
• Prepare and deliver performance appraisals and develop goals for each direct report.
• Plans, coordinates, oversees and executes volunteer appreciation events celebrating the volunteers annually.
• Work in collaboration with Director of Volunteer Services to implement recognition, enrichment and retention programs for volunteers.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication team to ensure outreach to current and prospective volunteers are detailed, on brand, on message, on time, on strategy and coordinated with all other external outreach.
• Work with the Director of Volunteer Services and with the Database Manager to ensure volunteer data is well-maintained, current, adheres to privacy guidelines, and provides essential metrics to assess program and organizational needs.
• In collaboration with the Director of Mission, and Communications team, prepare and present social justice education sessions and oversee the Justice Education workshop curriculum for volunteers.
• Comply with St Anthony Foundation’s Statement of Values and adhere to the guidelines of the SAF Safety Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Volunteer Services.

Skills & Requirements MININIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2-3 years’ experience supervising volunteers and volunteers groups. 
• 2-3 years’ experience supervision of others.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively when interacting with volunteers, donors and various constituents.
• Must possess a strong attention to details, instincts for accuracy and be driven to deliver information with exactness.
• Experience working with Salesforce is desirable.
• Must be comfortable with frequent public speaking to a variety of crowd sizes.
