Overview of the role:

The QA Engineer I is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance function, helping build and maintain test automation solutions in alignment with CI/CD best practices, and working closely with senior team members to execute automated testing strategies. Base software engineering and test automation skills are required.

The awesome stuff you’ll do in this role:

• Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms with guidance from senior engineers.

• Collaborate with development and product teams to help drive process improvements and advance a shift-left testing approach across the SDLC.

• Assist in developing and implementing low-to-mid level test strategies and plans under senior leadership.

• Participate in code reviews, use basic debugging techniques to troubleshoot technical issues, and provide practical feedback.

• Work with Product and Engineering teams to clarify requirements and build test cases aligned with acceptance criteria.

• Focus on building maintainable automated test solutions, executing test suites, and creating basic test reports and dashboards on run metrics.

• Engage in continuous learning and actively contribute to team quality initiatives.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

• Base proficiency in test automation frameworks, software engineering principles, and programming languages.

• Ability to design, build, execute, and maintain test suites across UI, functional, and end-to-end test levels.

• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and core SDLC and testing methodologies.

• Knowledge of core product features, common user workflows, and customer impact to effectively prioritize testing tasks.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical challenges or concerns with support from senior team members.

• Familiarity with Agile software development practices, such as Scrum.

• Exposure to WebdriverIO, BDD (Behavior Driven Development), or performance testing is a plus.

• Ability to write clear basic test plans, bug reports, quality status documentation, and present test run results.

• Strong written and oral communication skills with an open, receptive approach to feedback.
