CityVet Lower South End is seeking an experienced and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our veterinary team. At CityVet, we know our team of happy people is as unique and diverse as the pets we care for. This role is ideal for a groomer who takes pride in their craft and enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and their pets. We recruit and promote CityVet team members based on their abilities and accomplishments and create a welcoming environment for all.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and gland expression as appropriate

• Groom a variety of breeds and coat types

• Ensure pets are handled safely and with compassion

• Maintain grooming equipment and cleanliness of grooming area 

• Collaborate with the veterinary team regarding patient health concerns

• Perform thorough client communication when establishing and maintaining electronic records, including client preferences or instructions for grooming, animal’s habits and sensitivities, and any other personal preferences or requests from the client.

Qualifications

• Professional grooming experience required- Portfolio required

• Ability to groom all coat types and breeds

• Strong scissoring and finishing skills

• Excellent client communication and customer service skills

• Understanding and ability to safely handle pets of various temperaments

• High school diploma or GED
  
  
• At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
