Job Description

The Adult Services Department at Seacoast Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a full time Co-Occurring Disorder Therapist to be a part of our Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders (ITCOD) team.  This team practices a harm-reduction approach to treatment and offers Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).  This is a full-time 37.5 hours/week position with some flexibility in hours and some ability to use telehealth.  

We are seeking a master’s level therapist with interest and/or experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. An evidence-based treatment modality training is provided for all co-occurring therapists.

The applicant must have a master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology and be eligible for licensure with the NH Board of Mental Health practice. Desire and ability to work in a dynamic team setting and experience with crisis intervention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, co-occurring disorders, and/or State systems preferred. Training and experience with individual and group therapy, along with recovery-oriented modalities are a plus.

The position provides an opportunity to work in both our Portsmouth and Exeter locations and includes some evening hours. The co-occurring therapist will be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written skills and be familiar with the use of an electronic health record.  All state and federal confidentiality laws are strictly adhered to, and the candidate should be knowledgeable of 42 CFR Part 2 requirements for substance use disorder treatment providers.

Seacoast Mental Health Center is an established provider of services in the Seacoast area and offers full health and benefits package, as well as an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment where team support, supervision, and collaborative planning are standard practice. Full training and orientation are provided at the onset of employment to ensure successful transition into the community mental health center environment.  LADC supervision and/or MLADC peer consultation is available as needed.

Candidates for this position must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to demonstrate a "clean" driving record and must complete a criminal background check. 

Seacoast Mental Health Center, Inc. offers a generous compensation package including paid time off, health and dental plans, retirement account match, etc.  Applicants may be eligible for the NH State Loan Repayment program for up to $45,000 with a 3 year commitment  We also provide Licensing Supervision with a 2 year commitment after receiving License.
