Job Description

Help in the preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statement.

Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.  Balance all balance sheet accounts to subsystems.  Review income statements for items that are not in line with prior periods.  Explain variances between periods by researching unusual items.

Record all needed journal entries.  Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.  Perform month-end and year-end close processes.

Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking and inter-company reconciliations.

Work with outside consultants who handle 401k processing and testing.

Work with AR specialist to ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly.  Make sure issues are escalated to the proper level of management.

Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit.  Assist the controller in providing all schedules necessary for the audited statements. Make sure all document requests are timely handled.  Work with order departments to make sure all audit requests are handled.  

Check that all internal controls are followed.

Ensure compliance with accounting and finance standards, best practices, and government regulations

Handle any special projects assigned by the CFO or controller.
