As the Maintenance and Safety Manager of Dupuy Storage and Forwarding, LLC, you must have excellent organizational and management skills to lead a small mechanic, maintenance and facilities team to manage the smooth operation of a large group of warehouses throughout New Orleans.
Requirements:
- Oversees daily maintenance at all Dupuy New Orleans locations maintaining forklifts, yard trucks, and trailers; coordinates with maintenance staff for fleet maintenance needs and warehouse facilities needs.
- Supervises the daily work of all mechanics and maintenance personnel and assigns work tasks; monitors time management and completion.
- Purchases and manages spare parts inventory, location layouts and organization.
- Reviews and maintains inspection documents and maintenance records for safety security, quality, production equipment, building and grounds, fire and life safety systems and environmental.
- Operates the PM programs to reduce breakdowns through a software program.
- Ability to maintain equipment and files in neat and orderly manner.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner, work independently, meet deadlines
- Flexibility and the ability to juggle priorities.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with both staff and vendors.
- Must be able recognize, identify, and take initiative to present & implement ways to solve problems.
Skills/Ability/Training
- Knowledge of Safety Absolutes, GMP and PPE standards; able to get OSHA certification and TWIC card
- Experience in Outlook, Excel and Word
- Capable of learning Maintenance Pro Plus for PMs and recordkeeping.
Knowledge
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- 8 years of plant maintenance experience
- Broad knowledge base of Mechanical equipment, Hydraulics, and Forklifts.
- Broad knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC; knowledge of 120/240 voltage
- Broad knowledge of safety training and OSHA requirements
- Continuous education/training is MANDATORY.
