Accounting Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager will oversee and contribute to all plant accounting, costing and finance activities, including month end close, plant costing, financial analysis and planning for the both plant locations. This position will be part of the Supply chain finance team working closely with plant operations, supporting supply chain team and collaborating with other functions of the finance organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Oversee and perform month end close and reporting for the plant/BU.
  • Review of BU financials after close and provide detail variance analysis to budget, forecast and PY results for the Variable industrial costs and Operational overheads.
  • Identify and execute processes to improve profitability & internal control for the plant operations.
  • Collaborate with Corporate accounting and CSG accounting and financial services.
  • Review and analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts related to supply chain and resolve any outstanding issues prior to month end/quarter close
  • Support plant operation and management with all the needed financial support and KPIs
  • Oversee /perform plant costing and various reporting needs.
  • Partner with corporate accounting to provide all needed information during audit and throughout the year.
  • Active participation in preparing the annual budget for the plant operations
  • Collaborate plant management on all process improvement and lead cost reduction initiatives at the plant.
  • Develop and supervise the Staff Accountant ensuring maximum effectiveness and accuracy.

    WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  • 8+ years of previous industry accounting and costing experience handling manufacturing costing, financial analysis, accounting reconciliation and month end close.
  • SAP experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of product costing, standard cost.
  • GAAP & IFRS knowledge is a plus.

    SKILLS / OTHER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Advanced level Excel skills and the ability to handle large cubes of data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to take initiatives to research, improve, and/or optimize needed areas of improvement.
  • Ability to provide hands on coaching and feedback to direct reports and the ability to take decisive action on personnel changes as needed.

    FORMAL EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s/ Maters Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required.
  • CPA/CMA/MBA a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
  • The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is necessary.
  • Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending on the project or assignment.
