Position Summary

The PRN Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmacy services through the evaluation of physician orders, sterile compounding, and the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, supplies, and administration equipment. This role serves as a clinical resource for patients, providers, and referral partners, while ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

What You'll Do

  • Review, process, and verify physician orders and patient medication profiles
  • Compound sterile preparations using aseptic technique
  • Ensure compliance with USP <797> guidelines
  • Perform final product verification prior to dispensing
  • Maintain accurate documentation of prescriptions, compounding records, and patient care activities
  • Utilize available resources to research medications, equipment, and clinical monitoring needs
  • Serve as a clinical resource regarding medication use, adverse reactions, and drug interactions
  • Educate patients, providers, and referral sources on medications and administration equipment
  • Collaborate with nurses and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and drug delivery
  • Supervise pharmacy support personnel involved in compounding, packaging, and labeling
  • Participate in quality control and performance improvement activities
  • Assist with employee training and orientation as needed
  • Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Pharmacist (R.Ph.) license in good standing with the Georgia Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of infusion therapy experience
  • Strong understanding of sterile compounding practices and USP <797>
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred

  • Experience managing or supervising pharmacy support personnel
  • Specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, or home infusion experience
  • Knowledge of accreditation and industry practice standards
