Job Description

Expert User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer

Northern Virginia / Washington Metropolitan Area | TS/SCI Eligible| Full-Time

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who knows how to turn complexity into experiences people actually want to use. This is an opportunity to shape high-impact digital products from the ground up—bringing together user insight, creative design, and technology to build experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and highly functional.

You’ll have a hand in the entire design journey, from discovering what users really need and translating those insights into concepts, personas, and requirements to creating user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes. You’ll use tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite to bring ideas to life, test them with users, and continuously refine the experience based on real feedback.

You won’t be designing in a silo. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, stakeholders, communications professionals, and other designers to create a consistent look, feel, and user experience across digital products. You’ll help build and strengthen design systems, conduct final UI reviews, and work side-by-side with technical teams to make sure great designs translate into solutions that can actually be built and delivered.

If you’re energized by solving complex problems, championing the user, creating exceptional digital experiences, and seeing your designs move from concept to reality, this is the kind of opportunity where you can make an impact.

This role spans the end-to-end design process, from research and concept development through prototyping, testing, implementation, and final UI refinement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Conduct in-depth user research and usability testing.
  • Analyze user needs and translate findings into personas and design requirements.
  • Develop user flows, storyboards, wireframes, and sitemaps.
  • Create high-fidelity mockups, user interfaces, navigation menus, widgets, and other design elements.
  • Build interactive prototypes for testing and iteration.
  • Apply user feedback to continuously improve designs.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and seamless implementation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems.
  • Conduct final UI reviews to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications.
  • Collaborate with communications professionals to promote consistency of design and presentation.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Demonstrated UI and UX design experience showing a deep understanding of the end-to-end design process.
  • Demonstrated expertise in user research methodologies, wireframing, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototyping.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality digital products.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated specialized experience with NGA and/or other Intelligence Community agency missions and communications policies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Artificial Intelligence principles and implications for UI/UX.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PEO-GG systems.

This is a future opportunity and is contingent upon contract award and final customer requirements.
