Job Description

Description/Job Summary:

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Quality Control Manager (QCM) for a complete facility maintenance program to support a federal Agency.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing, implementing, and maintaining the QC program for the Charleston Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. The QCM will inspect all tasks, verify subcontractor work, ensure the Quality Control Plan and all local and federal codes are complied with, and complete necessary inspection reports and documentation required to support findings. The Quality Control Manager shall ensure work performed by the Contractor is accomplished following guidelines as specified within the contract. This includes but is not limited to work performed by the Facilities and Grounds Maintenance staff, as well as subcontractors hired by the contractor.

  • Define quality standards and benchmarks following industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Identify and assess risks related to product quality and take appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality control procedures, test results, and corrective actions accessible at any time by the Government and submit quality control metrics.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Develop a QC Plan that includes methods to measure, track, analyze, and report performance trends, root cause analysis of deficiencies, implement corrective actions, and provide follow-up.
  • Developing Quality Control Policies: Create and implement quality control policies and procedures to ensure consistent product or service quality.
  • Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality issues, test results, and proposed corrective action to bring performance to established metrics and standards.
  • Meets regularly with the Government and prepares minutes of the performance evaluation meetings.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in quality control methods.
  • Conducts inspections of all contract functions to ensure compliance with the statement of work.
  • Performs customer feedback analysis to determine the level of quality of the services provided.
  • Maintains a master policy file and monitors Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Train staff in quality control processes and standards, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Acts as a liaison between local, state, and federal authorities on all quality issues.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Government quality assurance visits and responses.

The position is an ON-SITE position and will require being at different locations in North Charleston occasionally.

Skills & Requirements

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Shall possess at least 3 years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in the inspection and oversight of facility related work including maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Should have demonstrated skills and knowledge in the written documentation of work acceptance, rejection, and noted deficiencies. This includes work performed by the Facilities and Grounds Maintenance staff as well as subcontractors hired by the Contractor. 
  • Shall possess a demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, the International Building Code, National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Code, and various Federal, State and Local code requirements. 
  • Shall have proficiency in oral and written communication in English. 
  • (e) Shall have basic computer skills including the ability to input data into the system and generate various reports and correspondence as required. Shall have proficiency in oral and written communication in English.

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to successfully pass government background investigation/clearance.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Seven (7) years of Federal quality management experience serving in a federal campus-style setting including food services, ammunition, janitorial, industrial operations, and maintenance. Familiar with applicable codes and regulatory requirements, International Building Code, Federal, State, and Local code requirements.
