Job Description

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Temporary Laborer to provide support to government agency. This will be a temporary position covering the fall months of september-november.

The primary role of organization is to coordinate requests for reservations and logistical support related to the Auditorium, meeting spaces, training rooms and special events within the HQs building. As such, the contractor provide support to include repairs, moves, event set-up/breakdown, logistics and miscellaneous duties.  This labor position will require extended periods of standing and walking during an 8-hour shift throughout the HQs building and performance of physical tasks associated with small-scale, short- duration repairs involving:

  • Replacement of furniture hinges
  • Repairing loose furniture handles
  • Installing pictures and white boards
  • Installing office and cubicle furniture
  • Assembly of purchased furniture
  • Replacing cabinets
  • Adjustments to keyboard trays and computers
  • Replacement of water filters, cleaning barbeque (BBQ) grills and related tasks
  • Hanging pictures, white boards, office signage
  • Climbing/working from a 6-foot ladder
  • Inspecting conference rooms and pushing chairs back under the conference tables
  • Assisting or independently adjusting, moving, or delivering tables or chairs so that a meeting set ups meet the expectations of a customer.
  • Organizing and maintaining Central Support storage
  • Setting up and decorating the HQs’ holiday tree and other holiday items with guidance from customer
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Adjusting event furniture (folding chairs and tables) when needed
  • Conducting daily tours of the HQs building to survey and monitor housekeeping activities when requested
Skills & Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a laborer or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance tools and equipment
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness
  • Very good physical condition and strength
  • High school diploma is preferred but not required
