Job Description

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for Assistant Project Manager responsible for providing support in the coordination in the completion of a major relocation project. Incumbent will oversee aspects of the project as directed by the Senior Project Manager and Relocation Project Manager. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and proactive individual with strong communication skills. They will support project managers in coordinating and monitoring project activities, ensuring deadlines are met. Reports to the Senor Relocation Project Manager for the project.

 

  • Assist in tracking tasks, monitoring deadlines, tracking responsibilities, and monitoring overall project progress. 
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding project status. 
  • Assist with all aspects of the project engagement from planning, subcontract and external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues and ensure overall project is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of the strategic objectives.
  • Maintain and update project management plans to visually represent project timelines, milestones, and dependencies, facilitating effective tracking and communication of project progress.
  • Support in preparing and distributing project deliverables, ensuring they meet quality standards and are delivered within established timelines, contributing to overall project success and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Effectively utilize company resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Develop and maintain detailed meeting minutes for all project meetings, accurately capturing and summarizing key discussions, action items, and decisions.
Skills & Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience support project managers in relocation/move management.
  • Experienced in the administration, scheduling, and coordination of relocation activities and requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work with a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

 

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Prior Project Management experience
  • Proficient in Smartsheet or related software
  • Experience working with federal and commercial clients 

 

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree from College or University and/or equivalent related experience.
