The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Grant Project Monitor with the Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office (GDO). GDO works to provide electricity to everyone, everywhere by maintaining and investing in critical generation facilities to ensure resource adequacy and improving and expanding transmission and distribution systems. Currently, the Office is focused on ensuring the resilience of critical power generation facilities like hydroelectric and nuclear facilities and developing high-capacity electric transmission lines nationwide. GDO’s work within the Transmission, Grid Modernization, and Power Generation Assistance Divisions will leverage unique authorities to drive transmission investment, improve resource adequacy by maintaining and investing in critical generation facilities, improve transmission and distribution system resilience, and provide access to technical assistance and national laboratory expertise, modeling, and analytical capabilities.
The Project Monitor will assist divisions within GDO Division with the monitoring of projects and shall support GDO Divisions to monitor, analyze and implement actions on reporting of grantee and Program activities based on Department of Energy and GDO accounting systems, other DOE records, Treasury reports, and private sector data sources.
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- The staff shall acquire current data for insertion into the relevant databases and supporting the tracking of project-level milestones.
- The staff shall respond to and validate data requests for appropriate federal, laboratory and/or schedule contractor personnel.
- The staff shall track monthly cost information for each Program or Office, which shall be collected, analyzed, entered, and reported.
- The staff shall assist the Federal staff with oversight, monitoring, and progress assessment of program activities.
- The staff shall review documentation in the field and highlight critical issues for the federal staff to address and report.
- The staff shall assist with program review activities, implementation, tracking and reporting.
- The staff shall develop and contribute to technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings).
Required Experience & Skills
- B.A. or B.S. degree in business or related field
- Six (6) years of professional experience related to the requirements of the position. Specialized experience may be substituted for education.
- Specialized Experience: Ten-years of specialized experience with an emphasis in the field of Renewable Energy.
- Microsoft Office Suite
