Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Facility Management / Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of facility operations and maintenance services supporting NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base. This position oversees multidisciplinary maintenance teams, coordinates operational activities across all building systems, and serves as the primary liaison between maintenance personnel, the Site Manager, subcontractors, and Government representatives to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant contract performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities for facilities and infrastructure supporting the contract.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance personnel and subcontractors across multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance.
  • Prioritize, assign, and monitor preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate daily operations with the Site Manager and Government representatives to support mission requirements.
  • Monitor contract performance, operational metrics, and work order completion to ensure compliance with contract requirements and service levels.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are properly documented within the CMMS.
  • Promote compliance with OSHA, NASA, environmental, and safety regulations while fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Support budgeting, resource planning, material procurement, and workforce scheduling.
  • Coordinate facility outages, repairs, and small projects to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Lead daily operational meetings and provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to supervisors and maintenance staff.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and customer service.
  • Support emergency response and continuity of operations during facility incidents.
Notice $120-140k/yr Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience managing facilities operations and maintenance programs.
  • 5+ years supervising multidisciplinary maintenance personnel in a commercial, industrial, institutional, or federal environment.
  • Experience managing complex O&M contracts.
  • Experience with building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building automation systems.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required federal security credentials.
