Position Overview

The Program Administrative Support Specialist provides administrative, writing, and research support for a Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response (SAHPR) program within a federal environment. This role supports policy development, documentation, and communication efforts related to sensitive subject matter and requires strong judgment, professionalism, and advanced writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, review, modification, and maintenance of SAHPR-related policies, procedures, and guidelines

  • Assist with drafting and updating program guidance, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and frequently asked questions (FAQs) to ensure clarity, consistency, and accessibility

  • Write and edit high-quality documents that clearly explain and interpret program positions related to sexual assault and harassment prevention and response

  • Draft and edit responses to ensure accuracy, clarity, conciseness, and adherence to established style guidelines

  • Conduct editorial reviews for grammar, style, consistency, and clarity, considering intended audiences and potential policy implications

  • Assist in preparing and editing materials intended for a variety of internal and external audiences

  • Perform research and analysis to support the development or revision of policies, procedures, guidance, and informational materials

  • Support technical writing and editing assignments that require analysis and synthesis of complex or sensitive information

  • Exercise discretion and professionalism when working with sensitive or potentially triggering subject matter

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative support, program support, policy support, or technical writing

  • Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills

  • Experience supporting compliance, policy, or programmatic initiatives preferred

  • Ability to review and edit complex documents for accuracy and clarity

  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment

  • Ability to work effectively with sensitive or emotionally challenging subject matter

Additional Considerations

  • This role may involve exposure to content that could be traumatic or triggering

  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a sensitive policy-driven environment
