Job Description

AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks a Clerical Support I to support proposal-based professional services efforts within a federal consulting environment. The Clerical Support I will perform clerical, administrative, and operational support activities to assist with daily office and program operations. This position supports operational, administrative, analytical, and strategic initiatives while ensuring professionalism, responsiveness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable federal policies, procedures, and security requirements. Work may be performed onsite within the Washington, DC metropolitan area with potential telework opportunities depending on program and client requirements.

 

The WORK

  •  Follow clearly detailed specific procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as coding and filing documents in an extensive alphabetical file;
  • Could involve simple posting to individual accounts, opening mail, calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts, operating basic office equipment, e.g., photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, mailing machines, and minimal computer programs;
Skills & Requirements

The REQUIREMENTS

· A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required for the role.

· Proficiency with physical office hardware (mailing machines, high-volume scanners, multi-line phones).

· Mastery of complex filing systems (alphabetical, numerical, or chronological).

· Understanding "simple posting" and account balancing.

· Use his or her own judgment in choosing the proper procedure for each task.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Work may be performed onsite at federal facilities within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Telework may be authorized depending on program and client requirements.

Personnel may be required to comply with federal security, confidentiality, and background investigation requirements.

Contractor personnel may be required to complete onboarding, security forms, training requirements, and non-disclosure agreements prior to beginning work.

Personnel are expected to maintain professional conduct and comply with all applicable organizational and federal policies and procedures.
