WBAIS SUBSTITUTE NURSE POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR


Job Description:

The Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel (WBAIS), a private, Pre-K - 12 international school located in Even Yehuda, is looking for the following on-call substitute nurse positions to join our fantastic WBAIS Nursing team:


  1. A temporary part-time position from August 17th 2022 until October 1st (perhaps longer)

Days:     Tuesdays & Thursdays:                   07:45 - 17:30

              Every other Friday:                           07:45 - 15:00


  1. An On-call nurse to fill in per diem throughout the school year (Mid August - Mid June, Mondays to Thursdays 07:45-17:30 and Fridays 07:45-15:00) when the WBAIS staff nurse is out on planned and/or sick leave.  As a per-diem on call nurse,, you may or may not receive advanced notice.

Our role, as the school nurses at WBAIS, is to promote health and healthy choices, prevent illness, restore health, ease physical and emotional distress and give lots of TLC (tender loving care).  According to the National Association of School nurses, "school nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifetime achievement of students."  Inherent in our nursing practice is respect for life, dignity and human rights.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides excellent & empathic health care, both acute and chronic, to students and staff in case of injury or acute illness

  • Provides emergency crisis nursing care for ill or injured students and staff in the school.

  • Help to develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities

  • Administers prescribed student medications

  • Reviews students’ Immunization records

  • Educates students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene 

  • Promotes Wellness and health education

  • Ensures school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)

  • Communicates and collaborates with the staff nursing team, students, parents, counselors, administrators, local medical providers & community agencies in order to meet the optimal health care needs of the WBAIS community. 

  • Demonstrates flexibility within job responsibilities



Requirements:

  1. Holds a valid up-to-date Nursing License from an accredited Board in Israel or abroad

  2. Certified in CPR & First Aid in the past 2 years.  If it has been more than 2 years, recertification training will be available in August/September. 

  3. Excellent English Language proficiency, both written and verbal.

  4. Hebrew Language proficiency a plus

  5. Experience in a school based or pediatric setting helpful

  6. Excellent communication skills

  7. Ability to multitask and problem solve
