Job title: ES Cultures of Israel and Arabic Language Co-Teacher
As part of our strategic goal of strengthening our diverse community, WBAIS is seeking to hire two elementary teachers from diverse backgrounds to develop and co-teach a comprehensive Cultures of Israel course that introduces Hebrew and Arabic languages and cultures. These individuals would work together as co-teachers to create an engaging learning environment that shares aspects of Israel as a multicultural, multi-lingual, unique place in the world.
We are looking for an Arabic-speaking teacher who can work with our Hebrew speaking teaching teacher to co-teach in both languages and all of the cultures of Israel.
The teachers should have experience teaching Arabic and Hebrew languages to elementary students, have strengths in curriculum development, and desire to collaborate and co-create a program that focuses on cultural aspects (holidays, traditions, foods, songs, games) and the languages of Israel in a co-teaching collaborative model. These teachers should be dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate about this collaborative endeavor. In addition, the teachers may also teach beginning Hebrew in the upper elementary. Part of the role is to work to create a rich and responsive learning environment and meet the individual needs of students in line with our school’s mission. These teachers will also work closely with the other modern language teachers and elementary homeroom teachers.
