Job Description
Our current wage range is $90,000 - $110,000 per year
Lead a kitchen rooted in tradition, but not traditional.
Great kitchens are built by great leaders. At Boqueria, our open kitchens turn out classic Spanish tapas and seasonal small plates made for sharing, rooted in tradition but never traditional. As Chef de Cuisine, you set the standard for every plate and every cook on the line, and you build the team that brings our food to life each night. We're looking for a chef who leads with craft, teaches with generosity and holds the kitchen to the highest standards.
This role is for you if:
• You're a natural-born leader who loves teaching and coaching your team.
• You sweat the details and strive for excellence on every plate.
• You believe a kitchen succeeds together, and you know how to build a team of A-players.
• You have an eye for ingredient quality and you own your numbers.
• You keep your cool, and your sense of humor, when the rail is full.
What you'll do:
• Lead the kitchen: make sure every dish meets our standards for impeccable food quality and exceeds guest expectations.
• Build the team: hire, train, develop and retain a hospitality-driven team of sous chefs and cooks.
• Build the culture: bring our core values to life in the kitchen and create a team people are proud to be part of.
• Champion quality: set par levels, manage ordering and inventory, and make sure every ingredient reflects our dedication to quality.
• Own the business: lead back-of-house operations to meet targets for food cost, labor and the P&L.
What you bring:
• Three to five years of relevant experience at comparable casual upscale restaurants or scratch kitchens.
• A track record of developing teams of A-players, including sous chefs and cooks.
• Strong people management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Strong financial acumen: P&L, cost of goods, labor and operational excellence.
• The ability to build par levels and manage inventory with a high attention to ingredient quality.
• Strong organizing and planning skills, plus a basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• A strong internal drive and dedication to high-quality work.
• Required food safety certifications will be obtained and confirmed upon hire.
What we offer:
• Salary: competitive, based on experience, paid weekly.
• Benefits: medical, dental, vision, disability, life and supplemental coverage.
• Time and perks: paid time off, discounted meals and flexible scheduling.
• Growth: a path to grow with Boqueria Restaurant Group, a growing, founder-led restaurant group.
• Culture: a team with high standards that takes care of each other.
