Job Description

 Aerospace Propulsion Engineer

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium and large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

The Aerospace Propulsion Engineer will be responsible for supporting AP programs at the NDS Mesa facility.  The Aerospace Propulsion Engineer position will report to the AP Chief Engineer and support a cross-functional Program Team.  The Aerospace Propulsion Engineer will support the execution of program tasking with guidance from and support of other engineers with expectations set by the AP Chief Engineer.  A qualified candidate must be able to provide technical support to the program team.

Primary Responsibilities of an Aerospace Propulsion Engineer

 
 • Execute day-to-day program activities by providing engineering oversight
• Communicate with internal and external customer(s)
• Conduct assembly and component analysis to support design
• Support bid and proposal preparation including:  scope of work, technical volume, schedules, and budgets
• Support creation of detailed IRAD plans and support continuous improvement projects
• Interface with cross-functional program team members to resolve technical issues
• Participate in Change Review Board meetings by preparing and presenting TDP process changes
• Participate in Phase Gate Review meets for development programs
• Support Product-Specific and Standard Process Hazards Analyses to ensure safe operating environment
 
Required Experience & Skills of an Aerospace Propulsion Engineer

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or similar technical field
• Seeking 5-12 years of engineering experience, Aerospace/Defense industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of closed form and finite element analysis
• Knowledge of solid modeling and detail drawing creation
• Team collaboration
• Ability to obtain approval through ATF to handle Nammo products and information.
