Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports shoulder-launched munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions, including carbon fiber tubes, and composite aerospace structures.

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities and supply chain operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing sourcing, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement processes to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials and services. This role requires a strong understanding of ERP systems, as well as expertise in manufacturing, logistics, and supplier contract management. The Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in optimizing procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards, including Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead a team of procurement professionals by providing guidance on sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
• Manage sourcing activities across commodities, including supplier evaluation, selection, and supplier performance management.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Manage procurement processes to ensure accurate purchase order processing and inventory management.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and production planning teams to ensure materials availability aligns with production schedules.
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve supply chain issues and improve procurement efficiency.
• Monitor supply chain performance metrics, including quality, on time delivery, and cost reductions. Work closely with Supplier Quality to resolve part discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) during procurement activities.
• Lead strategic management initiatives and leverage Nammo entities to develop sourcing strategies to optimize supply chain operations.
• Manage supplier relationships to foster continuous improvement and innovation in supply chain processes.
• Execute Long Term Agreements (LTA’s) for key/critical components. 

COOPERATION
This position requires collaboration between internal teams and with external stakeholders. 

LEVEL OF DECISION MAKING
This position entails making high-level autonomous daily decisions with and for those in the unit while providing guidance and technical expertise.  

Skills and Qualifications
• United States Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering or related field.
• 5 or more years proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledgeable in working in ERP/MRP systems, procurement analytics, category management and digital procurement tools.
• Familiarity with MRP systems, production planning, logistics, and materials management.
• Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and other regulatory and compliance requirements.  Familiarity with international trade regulations.
• Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to analyze pricing structures and supply chain data.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions and implement effective solutions. 
• Knowledgeable in the application of Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve processes and business outcomes. 
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing supplier relationships and cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement across departments including manufacturing, logistics, program management, finance, and legal.
