Job Description

We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our Springfield, IL plant.  As an Electro-Mechanical Tech with Contech you will contribute to America’s essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise needed for timely recovery from equipment outages as well as identifying long term solutions to minimize future outages.
  • Provide prompt response to analyze equipment malfunctions as well as coordinate repairs.
  • Support the Contech Plastics Manufacturing to address technical problems that include root cause and analysis, being a liaison between plans and suppliers to identify and resolve equipment issues with long term solutions that are sustainable.
  • Develop and maintain a common technical library of electrical and mechanical drawings, programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) programs, etc. related to the manufacturing equipment located at all locations.
  • Identify timely and cost-effective solutions for replacement of obsolete components.
  • Manage, maintain and improve remote interface capabilities.
  • Other duties assigned.

About You

We Require:

  • Preferred Education: Associates Degree with focus in Electro-Mechanical Technology/Engineering Technology/Electrical Technology
  • Required minimum education: Post-Secondary
  • Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician or similar in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in analyzing hard-wired relay control systems as well as modern programmable logic controllers.
  • Must be able to safely evaluate alternating current and direct current systems up to 480 volts.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Hands-on approach to job task to include seeking additional information on the task as required.
  • Self-starter and able to execute job tasks with limited supervision.  Motivated to identify root cause and long-term solution.
