SUMMARY:

The Warehouse & Logistics Lead is responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations across receiving, shipping, inventory movement, route readiness, driver coordination, and shift execution. This role serves as the senior hourly frontline leader supporting the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor and is responsible for driving execution, accountability, and communication across both warehouse and transportation-related activities.

This position owns daily labor deployment, task prioritization, workflow coordination, and real-time issue resolution to ensure product movement, inventory flow, and outbound schedules remain aligned with business needs. The Lead provides direct coaching, training, and work direction to warehouse personnel, drivers, and shift leads, while escalating formal employee matters to the Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this list is not all inclusive)

·         Provides daily work direction, task prioritization, and labor allocation for warehouse technicians, drivers, and shift leads.

·         Coordinates receiving, shipping, staging, product movement, pick sheet execution, and outbound route readiness.

·         Partners with Inventory Control, Production Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are staged and available according to schedule.

·         Supports driver scheduling, route timing, manifest readiness, and shipment of communication across departments.

·         Ensures all relevant stakeholders are informed of shipment timing, route schedules, labor constraints, and operational priorities.

·         Monitors labor hours, shift productivity, and workflow bottlenecks across both warehouse and logistics functions.

·         Supports inventory accuracy initiatives including cycle counts, staging verification, reconciliation support, and physical inventory organization.

·         Provides real-time coaching, training, and performance feedback to hourly employees during daily operations.

·         Supports onboarding and development of new employees and promotes adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

·         Escalates attendance, conduct, safety, and performance issues to the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor.

·         Maintains compliance with SOPs, operational controls, and California driver hour limitations, including monitoring daily duty-hour constraints.

·         Supports ERP transactions, shipment documentation, route communication logs, and operational KPI reporting.

·         Identifies process gaps and recommends workflow improvements related to labor utilization, route readiness, and warehouse flow.

·         Acts as the primary floor leader in the Supervisor’s absence.

·         Executes other duties and projects assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Constantly: Walking, grasping/gripping, bending/stooping/squatting, finger dexterity, computer input, coordination of hand and eye.  
• Frequently: Standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, and twisting. 
• Occasionally: Reaching above shoulder height, lifting 40-50 lbs., ability to do push/pull motions. 
• Constantly: Use visual display terminals (e.g., computers, tablets) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

● Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience, including lead-level or informal supervisory responsibilities.
● Prior experience in a regulated environment (cannabis, food, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing) strongly preferred.
● Working knowledge of METRC and ERP systems (Acumatica preferred).
