Job Description

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Qualifications:

·         Minimum two (2) years catering sales, or two (2) years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Hotel Sales OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

·         Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

·         Strong background in the selling and planning of events. MUST have experience in hotel catering/banquet department with emphasis on sales, sales, sales.

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, vendors, guests, clients, c etc.

·         Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

·         Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

 

 

·         Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.

·         Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

·         Excellent organization skill and ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

·         Detail oriented

·         Excellent and proficient oral and written English communications skills

·         Excellent time management skills and stress-management skills

·         Experience using a CRM, Event Management software, Delphi or any other related Sales & Catering software is an asset

·         Food and beverage knowledge

·         Ability to multi-task & prioritize job duties and have a strong sense of urgency

·         Must be able to work both as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.

·         Knowledge of catering forecasting a plus.

  • Hotel Sales experience is preferred
