POSITION SUMMARY:
Interact with vendors in an effort to bring aboard a variety of EDI-related initiatives. Coordinate such initiatives with the Buying Staff, Distribution Centers, Vendors, and other related departments within Information Services. Work with vendors to resolve all data and shipment issues as it pertains to EDI. Analyze and evaluate current EDI processing systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDI Initiatives:
· Handle all EDI testing with vendors to provide information following our EDI specifications
· Work with vendors providing non-compliant data to conform to our specifications
· Support the data needs of the Distribution Centers
· Support the Buying Staff as it pertains to their communication with vendors
· Provide support as needed for the Menard-Inc.com Partners and PIM/Supplier Portal websites
· Develop required rollout documentation as needed
· Be aware of and identify EDI industry trends/practices
Production Issues:
· Identify problem trends pro-actively
· Develop and execute action plans to determine problem, develop resolution and implement
· Follow established processes for problem handling or resolution
Vendor Set Up and Testing:
· Ability to analyze vendor programs to identify applicable scenario’s to be tested
· Develop and execute testing plans, hold vendors accountable and on track/meet deadlines
· Ability to identify, communicate and work with vendors to resolve issues quickly
· Ability to independently develop and follow through on implementation plans
Security and Confidentiality:
· Maintain information confidentiality and security
· Protect and prevent unauthorized attempts to obtain corporate information
· Suggest and recommend ideas for systems and data security
· Report all unauthorized incidents to the management
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Associate or Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience
· Minimum 1-2 years previous EDI experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
· Excellent interpersonal skills; organizational skills; and verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent analytical skills for problem determination and resolution
· Proficient background in basic computer skills and software packages (Excel, Word, etc.)
· Previous experience with “standard” retail EDI documents - 810, 846, 850, 856, 864, 870, 997, etc… version 4010 and/or above a plus
· Experience with BizManager and Trusted Link Enterprise (TLE) software a plus
· Ability to successfully negotiate with vendors to provide service to the corporation
· Ability to manage multiple priorities
· Strong ability to see through and understand a problem from start to finish
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to work independently as well as cooperate with others
· Must work within designated normal office hours - Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week - at the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI (remote work is not offered)
· Must be willing to work overtime as needed
· Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, presently and in the future, without sponsorship
