Fleet Mechanics are responsible for the Maintenance of Menard-owned equipment and vehicles. This is light duty, medium duty, and heavy-duty truck, trailer, and forklift repairs.

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:

• Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repair
• Repair, replace, and adjust necessary units and related parts
• Perform maintenance work to DOT standard for over the road equipment
• Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane, and battery powered engines/equipment
• General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units
• Perform preventive maintenance work on vehicles including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections
• Clean and maintain the work area and equipment
• Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed

Position Requirement:

• Must have some direct mechanical experience or an accredited Technician Degree
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to locate and resolve problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficient welding and maintenance experience
• Must be able to take direction from management and the ability to work independently
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. occasionally
