Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Specialized work providing structural calculations and code compliance of building plans.
  • Create structural calculations for various materials such as wood, concrete, and steel.
  • Communicate building design concepts with owners, contractors, and building officials.
  • Provide design documents for local and state building officials.
  • Review and approve structural plans prior to regulation/code compliance review
  • Submit plans to appropriate agencies to receive permits, track accountability, and verify approvals prior to distribution to the guest.
  • Cost estimate material for commercial buildings.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • May assist team members in resolving structural design problems.
  • Address deficiencies in preliminary design.
  • Troubleshoot onsite expansion projects.
  • Assist in research and development of products used in the building industry.
  • Any additional engineering functions as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Skills & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering – Structural Emphasis preferred
  • Courses in Concrete and Steel Design (Optional Wood Design)
  • Proficient with building codes and how they apply to structures.
  • Exceptional Guest Service skills
  • Computer software knowledge (Excel, Word, Visual Basic)
  • Able to establish effective working relationships with contractors and store Team Members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • P.E. License or F.E. Exam
