The Role in Brief:
Events Specialist
The Events team is responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of more than 100 in-person events annually, including large-scale conferences, executive roundtables, international summits, internal celebrations, and incentive trips. We lead with an innovative approach, attention to detail, and unparalleled service.
Working with teams and leaders across the firm, the Events Specialist will support both virtual and high-touch in-person events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive, combining the technical expertise of virtual event platforms with a service mindset and hospitality skills to deliver exceptional experiences for all attendees.
This position is located in our Richmond, VA, office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Virtual Events Support
- Set up, configure, and test virtual event platforms to ensure smooth operation and attendee engagement.
- Manage registration processes, including data collection and access control, to provide a seamless experience.
- Design, maintain, and update event websites and agendas, ensuring content is accurate and up to date.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for attendees, speakers, and sponsors, assisting with platform navigation and resolving access issues.
- Collaborate with programming, marketing, and events colleagues to align on event content and materials.
- Analyze attendee data, engagement metrics, and feedback to create reports and actionable recommendations for future events.
- Develop and execute attendee communication plans, including pre-event instructions, reminders, and post-event follow-ups.
VIP-Style Event Support
- Welcome and assist visiting partners, providing personalized, high-touch hospitality and addressing special requests.
- Coordinate with partner relationship managers, operations teams, and onsite vendors to ensure a seamless event experience.
- Oversee catering needs, including dietary restrictions and coordination with the onsite catering team.
- Ensure meeting spaces are set to specifications, including furniture configuration, signage, place settings, and materials setup.
- Create and distribute detailed travel itineraries for partner attendees, tracking arrivals and departures to ensure smooth logistics.
- Provide administrative support to the Events and Ops Support teams, including bulk printing, shipping/receiving supplies, and other operational tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with excellent academic record
- 1+ year of post-bachelors work experience
- Proven customer service experience and the ability to deliver exceptional service both internally and externally.
- Proficiency with common workplace tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
- Strong relationship management skills with a collaborative and diplomatic approach.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities with attention to detail.
- Internal candidates must be able to demonstrate a record of achievement throughout EAB tenure.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience using Cvent or other virtual event platforms
- Proven ability to develop and implement organizational tactics to meet business goals.
- Track record of taking the initiative and driving projects forward.
- Experience working effectively both in teams and autonomously.

Compensation:
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $43,500 - $48,500 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.
This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
