The Role in Brief

Director, Accounts & Strategy

The Director, Accounts & Strategy will serve as the primary contact and ultimate point of accountability responsible for leading digital and web content vision with the Web Visibility and Strategy’s clients (partners) and cross-departmental EAB teams, from strategy through execution, ensuring connectedness across multiple Web Visibility and Strategy and EAB service offerings. 

This role will be focused on best-in-class partnership management, working closely with cross-functional teams; range of work for this role includes managing a variety of digital product offerings including website content strategy, SEO/GEO audits, virtual tour integrations, digital media campaigns, and other web-related projects. The successful candidate will have a solid applicable understanding of how a website functions and attracts traffic, be relentlessly focused on successful outcomes for our partner’s web-related needs, and comfortable in a fast-paced, still-evolving entrepreneurial environment.

This hire may be based in Washington DC or Richmond, VA., and requires regular in-person presence in the office, generally at least two days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead partner meetings, build strategies, and be a respected advisor for the partner on all aspects of their web and digital landscape
  • Gather, understand, synthesize, and communicate critical information about our clients’ products, market, competitors, and customers, pulling insights from a variety of sources (e.g., user testing results, market trends, competitive research, analytics, etc.) to ensure that we are designing and building with a clear view of the big picture and context
  • Ensure Web Visibility and Strategy services exceed expectations and that delivery is on strategy and meets partner goals
  • Set the long-term vision and strategy for our partners' digital products and services and write strategic briefing documents that clearly communicate those expectations and goals
  • Play an active role in growing the scope of work for accounts and lead partner onboarding and initial discovery sessions, revisiting goals quarterly/annually to roadmap plans
  • Deliver clear and concise communication with internal teams and ensure everyone is on the same page for the project with clear actions and timelines
  • Manage and mentor assigned account managers [JL1] and planners as the team grows
  • Represent EAB and the Web Visibility and Strategy team at industry conferences and networking events
  • Stay abreast of consumer trends and behaviors across generations and technologies
  • Partner with and report to the senior director of the team to identify partner opportunities, scope projects, and find solutions to internal and external challenges
  • Share partner status at internal Web Visibility and Strategy traffic meetings and through other team channels
  • Up to 10 - 15% - maximizing activities at national meetings and conferences as well as campus visits where applicable

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years’ experience developing strategies for websites or digital products or services
  • 5+ years of account management experience, preferably with an emphasis in digital channels
  • Strong understanding of, and ability to stay current with, digital trends and technologies
  • Experience pulling insights from user and market research, analytics, digital maturity assessments, and competitive analysis to develop strategic recommendations
  • Experience effectively communicating vision, goals, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders and cross-functional team members at various levels of an organization, including executive leadership
  • Proven experience with successful product and service launches
  • Experience launching and tracking performance of a web campaign
  • A flexible, collaborative, and positive mindset
  • Strong interest to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Ability to handle multiple and simultaneous deadlines
  • Willingness to travel domestically approximately 10-15% and a valid U.S. drivers license

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Current understanding of website design and development methodologies
  • Current understanding of popular technologies and emerging platforms
  • Experience with customer journey mapping, content strategy, and analytics
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and Google Search Console
  • Experience working in the education industry

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary (base) range for this role is $83,500 - $100,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.

This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
